Brummit Squash and Racketballl Sat 14th April at Peterborough Sports Centre
By Alistair Dawson
Peterborough Town Sports Centre hold an annual competition called the Brummit (no I don’t know what it stands for either).
This competition started off as a hockey festival with teams from all over the country and Europe descending on Peterborough for three days of sport and various cultural events involving beer and food.
This event has been extended at the club over recent years to add on a day of squash and racketball as well. The format is a three man competition with three grades of squash and a racketball tournament. It is usually a great day’s fun of evenly matched competitive games followed by music/a band and maybe even some dancing (usually involuntary based on alcohol intake by the non-driver). The club has a great atmosphere during the tournament and one or two memories and life-long friends have been made on the day (and forgotten the next!).
This event is organised by the coach at Peterborough, Dan McGinn, who’s email is below so if there is any clarification required on the event or how to enter etc. please direct those queries to him. We do aim to have a good racketball presence too.
If you are keen on entering a team, please drop Dan McGinn a line with your Team name and the 3 players names etc.
