The newly launched Cambs Squash Developing Coaches Academy is looking for people who want to become full-time squash coaches. The Academy is supported by Living Sport (County Sports Partnership) Cambridge SRA and is part-funded by Sport England.
The Programme is for a year. There is an initial three month needs analysis and intensive training period followed by a nine-month placement at a local club in the county.
You will be helped to develop a Schools and Junior Squash Coaching outreach programme and will be paid. The starting salary is (estimate) £9K per year after the initial three-month training period. The programme will provide training in business and organizational skills. At the end of it you will be equipped to make a living as a coach.
A twelve-month apprenticeship programme, linked to a local college, that will lead to a formal NVQ Level 2 qualification in Coaching and Activity Leadership will also be available to suitable people.
Cambs Developing Coaches Academy programme also offers the chance to complete formal England Squash coaching qualifications (levels 1-3).
