Coaching at Cambridge Squash Club

Over the last 2 years we have worked to assemble a coaching team in order to help improve the overall playing standards within the club and also to help develop the infrastructure of the club.

Infrastructure
The club coaches are often the first point of contact for prospective members and will go out of their way to show visitors around, explain how the club operates and what it has to offer for both the social and more competitive player.
Coaches are also in direct contact with England Squash (ESR) at regional and national level in order to explore funding and development opportunities. In this respect the club has recently been able to reinstate its Sliver Club mark status and should qualify for the prestigious Gold Standard during the summer of 2013. In turn ESR has provided ongoing advice and equipment so the club may develop its “Mini- squash” and “Squashercise” activities.
Our coaches will also be working with ESR regional mangers in order to explore funding opportunities whereby we can improve the club infrastructure and interact more with the community, with more involvement with Schools and local community groups, all of which would lead to increased participation and membership.
